Scientific Figure Generator
Start from a description, a rough sketch, or a figure you already have. LitFigure drafts a biomedical figure you can revise, then you check it before submission.

Three ways to start
Text to figure, sketch to figure, or edit an image you upload. Pick the one that matches the file you already have.
Built for biomedical figures
Mechanisms, pathways, workflows and graphical abstracts. It does not replace a statistical plot of your raw data except for the scatter and box plot tools.
A draft still needs review
Labels in whole-image SVG may be outlines rather than editable text. PPTX availability and object editability depend on the document type. Inspect the exported file before relying on text or object editing.
What is a scientific figure generator?
A scientific figure generator turns a research description into a figure draft. For LitFigure that means a biomedical mechanism, pathway, workflow or graphical abstract, which you then revise and check against the paper.
Why it matters
- Most of the time is spent stating the relationships, not choosing a brush
- A complete draft shows missing labels earlier than a blank canvas
- The same studio covers a new figure and a revision of an old one
- Journal files still have to be checked for size, format and AI-use rules
Where it is used
- Paper figures that explain a mechanism
- Graphical abstracts and talk slides
- Grant and thesis overview figures
- Revisions of a figure you already exported
How to make one
Choose how you will start
Text if you can describe it. A sketch if the layout already exists. Edit image if you are changing a current figure.
Generate or revise
The studio keeps the result as a version you can compare with the next attempt.
Review, then export
Check labels, arrows and the file you actually downloaded.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between text, sketch and edit?
Text starts from a description. Sketch redraws an uploaded rough layout and should keep that layout. Edit changes an existing image and should leave the rest alone. You still review the result.
Does this make publication-ready figures by itself?
No. Treat the image as a draft. You are responsible for the science, the journal’s AI policy, and the exported file.
Which figures should use a different page?
Use the graphical abstract, mechanism, pathway, workflow, PRISMA, Western blot, scatter plot or box plot pages when you already know the figure type. This page is the general starting point.
Is the scientific figure generator free?
You can open it and write a prompt for free. Generating spends credits, starting with the credits issued after email verification.
